Home Minister Ahmed Azleen have said that even though Maldives is small Maldives is an independent and a sovereign nation.
Speaking at the ceremony held today at Iskandarkoshi to mark Police Memorial Day, the minister said that it is sad to see that some people trying to undermine the sovereignty of the nation. He said that such opportunities will not be given.
The minister said that a life of a police man is very valuable and it is unacceptable for anyone in the society to attack the police. He said that a policeman losing life on the line of duty is something that cannot be tolerated.
He also said that, it is evident that foreign agents try to corrupt the minds of Maldivians. Minister Azleen further said that people who attack police, destroy their properties and threaten the police should be given severe punishments.
