Ismail Mifzal, Orchidmaage of Gdh.Fiyoree has won the first place of the Quran recitation competition organized by Fiyoree Association for Community Empowerment.
The second place was won by Fathimath Shaaya, Veshi. Three students won the third place. They are Aminath Dhifna, Abdullah Maheel Muthalib, And Fathimath Neena Ahmed. A ceremony was held this morning to announce the winners.
The competition was conducted from 20th July to 21st July. Students from 7 age groups took part in the competition. A cash prize of 5000 Rufiyaa and an Umra trip was given for the first place.
Since 2012, FACE has bee conducting various community empowerment projects in the island. In addition they even run a Quran class in the island. They are also developing a mosque in the island. Furthermore the organization is developing a children’s park and a football academy for children as well.
