Deputy Leader of JP, Ameen Ibrahim have said that halting parliament sessions will result in increased opportunities for undue influences within the government.
Ameen said that it is the parliament which should work the hardest in stopping such influences. He said that the MPs are working to stop that. Ameen said that this halt in parliament sessions will affect the citizens most.
Ameen said that today the democracy of Maldives eclipsed and it is time to save Maldives from this. He said that no one should hesitate to do that. In addition he said that it is the parliament which should uphold democracy and hence locking up the parliament is locking up democracy.
Ameen said that powers are separated in Maldives and the constitutions states that one state institution should not influence the other. He said that if there are undue influences the country will be damaged.
