Economic Minister Mohammed Saeed have said that the government will not allow any activity that will obstruct the economic development of Maldives.
He said that for a country to remain independent, economic development is the most important. He said that the economy can be developed by increasing the state revenue and that can be done when the country is stable.
He said that the tourism industry is the backbone of Maldivian economy and that Maldives started by selling a room for 23 dollars, whereas now Maldives is a high-end tourist destination. He said that now there are rooms which are sold for more than 1000 dollars per night.
The minister noted that to develop Maldives stability and harmony is important.
