Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer have said that the GDP per capita of Maldives can be doubled and now there are signs that it can be done.
Moosa Zameer said that every year new resorts are being opened and by 2018 50 new resorts will be opened. He said that within this 5 year term of the current administration 50 new resorts will start operations.
He noted that which each resort the national income will increase. He said that the number of tourists to Maldives are also increasing and that it can be further increased.
The minister said that the Velana Airport development project is going on and once the airport is completed the national income will increase as well.
