Tourist arrivals from Japan has increased. Records from Tourism Ministry have shown that 2495 tourists from Japan arrived to Maldives last June. This is an 11 percent increase compared to last year's June.
After India and China, Japan has the highest tourist arrivals to Maldives among Asian countries. Most tourists from Japan comes for diving. In addition many people spend time on Safaris.
Some years ago Japan was among the top 10 countries of tourist arrivals to Maldives.
