Records by the Tourism Ministry shows that tourist arrivals have increased in June. In June 85,222 tourists visited Maldives and that is an increase of 7.8 percent compared to June 2016.
Most of the tourists came from China. 24,160 tourists visited from China however there was a 15 percent decrease in Chinese tourists compared to last year.
By the end of June 657,540 tourists visited Maldives. This is a 6.1 percent increase compared to last year.
Tourist arrivals are on the rise meanwhile the government is planning to open 30 new resorts by 2018.
