Opposition has filed a motion to the parliament saying that the security services violated their parliamentary privilege on 24th of July. The motion was filed by MP Mahloof and speaking about the motion MP for Kendhoo constituency Ali Hussein said that there are regulations on how to deal with a parliament member. “They can touch a parliament member after warning them and then after the speaker of the parliament should request the sergeant at arm of the parliament in writing” said Ali Hussein.

Ali Hussein said that there is no situation where MNDF should request for assistance from Police and the constitution says that only Police can request for MNDF’s help if needed. He noted that the security services conducted in an unlawful manner on that day. Ali Hussein also said that the parliament members who are in detention right now did not lose their seats and hence they should be brought to the parliament session tomorrow.
