Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer have laid foundation stone for Emboodhoo Lagoon integrated resort development project.
The project is conducted by Sinha Estate of Thailand and costs 311 million dollars. Under the project 9 islands will be reclaimed and 1300 rooms will be developed. In addition a yacht marina, duty free shops, and restaurants will be developed which will create 5000 jobs.
The first phase of the project will be completed in July 2018. Even though the project was officially started today, land reclamation work has been going in since January.
