Mubaal Azzaam Ibrahim has renewed the national record of 400 meters medley event. He made this record at the 17th FINA World Championship held at Budapest, Hungary. He renewed the record by 25 seconds.
Mubal finished the record with a timing of 5:46.11. A Maldivian athlete finished the 400 meter individual medley event in a record time in the 2015 Indian Ocean Island Games. That was with a timing of 06.13.57.
In the 17th FINA World Championship Maldives is represented by Mubaal Azzaam, Ismail Muthassim, Aminath Shajan and Aishath Sajina. They were accompanied by coach Ibrahim Moosa and Fayaz Ali Riza and the physiotherapist. Mohamed Abduh Sattar went as the manager of the team.
