First three resorts in the Emboodhoo Lagoon project will be completed next year according to Sinha Estate of Thailand, the investors of the project.
Speaking to the press the Chief Investment Officer Thity said that to complete the three resorts of the first phase of the project, it will cost 311 million dollars. “The 6 resorts of the second phase will be completed by 2022. 680 million dollars will be invested for the second phase” said Thity.
The Islands will have different levels of rooms, villas, duty free shops, yacht marina and different restaurant facilities. Thity said that tourism in Maldives is developing and there is huge potential for mid-range tourism.
The total cost of the project is almost 1 billion dollars and the lagoon was leased to 99 years.
