JP leader Qasim Ibrahim have said that he has concerns about the ongoing trial of him at the Criminal Court but still hopes to get justice.
Speaking after his hearing today at the criminal court Qasim said that the previous judges who presided over the case threw the case out of the court because the state could not provide enough evidence even to prove a civil case against him.
" They did not have evidence to prove a civil case even. A criminal case can be proven when they have evidence of a higher category. Thats why I requested to make a decision about that. The court was going to make a decision that night but PG lawyers did not show up at the court. That's why the case got dismissed" said Qasim.
Qasim said that the case was filed again after combining three cases as one. However he said that he is being questioned as if the cases are separate.
In addition Qasim said that previously three judges presided over the case while now it is presided over by one judge.
"Not saying that I will not get justice because one judge is presiding over the case. Things are going well for now. I have not committed a crime. I have not said anything unlawful. What I said was in public. They have not been able to show any crime I committed or planned to commit. These are things other politicians say as well" said Qasim.
Qasim said that he is active not because he is fit but he goes to the court because he gets summoned. In addition he said that he attends political gatherings also because the government is doing many unlawful and unjust things like vacating the seats of parliament members and hence want to say something about it.
Qasim noted that he has still not been allowed to leave the country for treatment.
