MP for South Galolhu constituency Ahmed Mahloof’s passport has been seized with a court order.
A court order issued by the Criminal Court says that Mahloof’s passport was seized because the police is investigating Mahloof’s actions in the parliament building on 24th of July. Mahloof is suspected of creating violence in the parliament building and attacking some parliament members.
The order issued by Criminal Court judge Ali Adam states that Mahloof’s passport is being withheld for one month. It is being withheld because it is suspected that he is planning to flee Maldives. The action was taken after credible intelligence received by the police.
