Pakistan has decided to donate 77.1 million Rufiyaa to establish a medical college in Maldives. They have now handed over this money to the government of Maldives.
Establishing a medical college in Maldives has been a dream of many. In 2013 a team from Sri Lanka did a feasibility study on Maldives to see whether a college can be established in Maldives.
Two years after that the National University of Maldives met with relevant authorities and discussed based on the feasibility study.
In May this year, Health Minister Nazim said that a team from Pakistan also did a survey on establishing a medical college in Maldives and the survey results were positive.
