Lawyer Hisaan Hussein have said that in today’s hearing of JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim, the PG lawyers failed to answer the defense lawyers and the rulings regarding the points highlighted by the defense lawyers were issued by the bench.
“They do not respond to anything we say in defence. Instead the ruling comes from the bench. We noted that even” said Hisaan.
Hisaan said that since under the criminal procedures act this case cannot be filed again they questioned how they filed the case. She said that the PG lawyers said that they filed the case because the Criminal Court issued in writing that the case can be filed again. “ We said that in the statement given to us it does not say like that and hence we want to see their statement. Then they took a break and after some time they said that they were mistaken and that they do not have such a statement. Then we said that, filing a case like that is reason enough for the case to be dismissed” said Hisaan.
Hisaan said that later the lawyers said that they filed the case because the law does not say that they cannot do it. However she said that, it is not the standard procedure. They twisted the article in the constitution which says that anything which is lawful is legal according to Hisaan.
Hisaan said that the PG does not have evidence that can even be used in a Civil Case, but the judge decided to proceed with the case.
A hearing of this case has been scheduled for 10:30 am on Sunday. In that hearing both PG and Qasim will present evidences.
