The state has said that Waheed was removed from PPM after the Supreme Court’s verdict on floor crossing.
Speaking at the hearing held today at the Supreme Court regarding the case filed by Wadde when Elections Commission declared that he no longer is a parliament member, the lawyers representing the state said that the Supreme Court stated that the parliament member will lose the seat from the moment the EC informs the parliament about the member’s membership status.
They said that the parliament was informed about Waheed’s status after the Supreme Court verdict. However, the state agreed that PPM sent a letter to Waheed about the party’s decision to remove him from the party and a copy of the letter was sent to the Elections Commission.
Nonetheless, they said that this letter was not official and the official letter to remove Waheed was sent after the Supreme Court verdict.
