The state has requested at the Supreme Court to annul the clause which allows elected officials to switch parties without losing their seat.
The state made this request during the hearing of MP Saud held today at the Supreme Court. Previously the Supreme Court issued a verdict stating that those who cross the floors will lose their seats and EC declared seats of 5 members vacant.
However the Supreme Court did not annul the clause which states that elected officials will not lose their seats even if they cross floors. Even in the second verdict they issued, they stated that this clause has not been annulled.
