China-Maldives relations will strengthen: Ambassador
Maldives and China has similar thinking in terms of economic development



Chinese Ambassador to Maldives, H.E Wang Fukang have said that Maldives and China has similar thinking in terms of economic development and hence China-Maldives relations will strengthen day by day.

Ambassador Wang Fukang’s term as ambassador to Maldives has ended and will be departing Maldives sometime tonight. Miadhu News team paid a farewell call to the ambassador. Speaking to Miadhu News, he said that Maldives and China has similar thinking in terms of economic development.

“China’s highest priority is economic development. Even Maldives is focusing on economic development. China is one of the most prosperous nations in the world. China does not want to use this prosperity for China alone. China wants to share it with everyone else. That is why China conducts mega projects and campaigns under different names” said the ambassador.

The ambassador said that all the projects that are being conducted in Maldives by China are projects that will be beneficial for Maldives. He said that whoever thinks about these projects carefully will understand this. In addition, he said that there will be people who always criticize everything and that is how the world works.

Moreover, Ambassador Wang Fukang said that small countries like Maldives should do extra work to compete with countries that have developed rapidly. He said that China will assist Maldives in these endeavors.

Ambassador Wang Fukan played a key role in implementing China-Maldives Friendship bridge projects, airport runway development project and L.Gan link road development project.

Hence, it is important that the ambassador gets invited to the inauguration ceremonies of the bridge, airport runway and 7000 housing unit project.

Ambassador Wang Fukang contributed to the development of Maldivian media as well. He facilitated in the development of media personals in the Maldives.

The ambassador said that he wants to see Maldivians benefit from the Chinese projects that were started during his tenure as Ambassador.

“Maldivians will benefit from the projects, there is no doubt about it. Even I want to see that day” said the ambassador.

The ambassador said that Maldivians are friendly and always open to make new friendships and kind people. He said that he will always remember the times he spent in the Maldives. “Maldivians are exemplary in hospitality. I will visit Maldives again. I am leaving Maldives after working very hard. Now I want to spend my holidays in Maldives” said the ambassador.

Ambassador Wang Fukang spent 3 years and 8 months in the Maldives as ambassador and provided invaluable services to the Maldives.
