Doctors at IGMH have issued a statement saying that Qasim Ibrahim is in a serious condition and that he cannot be treated in Maldives. They also stated that his life is in danger and to save him he should be taken abroad for further treatment. This statement has been submitted to the Criminal Court.
Qasim’s lawyer Hisaan Hussein said that the court has not responded to the lawyers regarding the documents which were submitted today. Hisaan said that even when Qasim collapsed inside the court, the judge wanted to continue the hearing in Qasim’s absentia.
Hisaan said that they the judge was trying to continue the hearing even while they were saying that it cannot be done without the client’s permission in criminal cases. She said that the judge stopped only when he got the statement from the doctor
