Hussein Shameem a member of Qasim’s legal team have said that as soon as a judge from the Criminal Court got suspended last night, it can be seen that JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim’s trial has been hastened.
Shameem said that, the judge ended yesterday’s hearing saying that the date of the next hearing will be announced next week. “But last night again a chit was sent. The timing of the judge’s suspension and the summon order sent to Qasim is proof of what is happening” said Shameem.
Shameem said that Qasim’s lawyers were forced to stay at the court even after Qasim collapsed and was taken to hospital.
Shameem said that he believes that Qasim’s health worsened because of the way his hearings were scheduled today.
