The president of Maamigili Council Abdullah Mufeed said that the people of Maamigili will not say yes to tyranny even if the government gives them boxes full of gold.
Mufeed said that the people of Maamigili believes that the jail sentence on Qasim Ibrahim is well planned and the people of Maamigili are concerned that the government is obstructing Qasim Ibrahim for attaining medical treatment.
He said that the people of Maamigili are ready to protest the injustices like they protested when Qasim was detained few months back. He said that the people are waiting to be in solidarity with Qasim Ibrahim and his family.
Mufeed said that it is not only the people of Maamigili who are concerned about Qasim Ibrahim but people from all over the Maldives are worried about Qasim.
“This is an irreparable damage. We will continue to pray. Lot of people want to protest even but we are controlling them” said Mufeed.
