The doctors assigned by Corrections also gave the same statement – Why are they withholding permission to leave ? : Sameer

Secretory General of JP, Ahmed Sameer have said that the doctors assigned by Maldives Correction Service also gave the same statement as the doctors from IGMH about JP leader Qasim Ibrahim’s health conditions.

Ahmed Sameer said that the doctors said that Qasim’s condition is serious and that there is no treatment that can be given from Maldives. Sameer said that the doctors assigned by Corrections said that same thing as IGMH and hence, no one should be obstructing Qasim from leaving for treatment.

While Sameer have said that the statement issued by doctors last night noted that Qasim should be taken abroad urgently. However he has still not be allowed to leave for treatment.

The Criminal Court verdict on Qasim also ordered the state to facilitate Qasim’s medical treatment and said that the jail sentence should not be an obstruction in attaining treatment.
