Home Minister Azleen have said that, the ministry is arranging for JP leader Qasim to go abroad for treatment.
Azleen made this statement while speaking to family members of Qasim Ibrahim today. Ahmed Sameer the SG of JP who took part in the meeting said that the minister allowed them to talk about various issues of concern.
“He said that they are closely monitoring Qasim’s health and the President himself is checking on Qasim. The minister assured that Qasim will be sent abroad very soon” said Sameer.
Speaking to Miadhu News, the home minister said that with the will of Allah nothing sad will happen to Qasim because he is unable to attain treatment. Azleen said that Qasim was sentenced during the weekend, but even during the weekend Corrections worked to arrange Qasim to go abroad for treatment.
He said that as soon as the government opened on Sunday, he requested to make the process faster. He said that he asked the Corrections to complete the procedure as soon as possible.
On the Criminal Court verdict issued on Qasim Ibrahim on 24th of this month it says that Qasim should be able to get medical treatment and ordered the state to facilitate it. This is the fifth day since the verdict and the family is expressing concerns that he has still not be allowed to leave.
