Qasim is asking the government to send him abroad for medical treatment as soon as possible. Two days ago Qasim’s status was changed to house arrest by Correctional Service. Hence now he gets some privileges that people on house arrest receives. His family is also able to meet him now.
His family stated that they are happy that he has been changed to house arrest but still the family wants him to be treated as soon as possible.
“Even if he is changed to Maafannu Villa or IGMH, he is not being treated. That is what we are most concerned about” said a family member.
In addition to Qasim’s family thousands of Maldivians are worried about Qasim’s health.
