The conference facilities of the resort, has the highest capacity and the most advanced services even compared with such facilities in Maldives. The resort has conference rooms which can seat 500 people at the same time and seminar rooms that can seat 300, 200 and 100 people at the same time. Qaisar Naseem the General Manager of the resort said that officials of WHO noted that the recent 70th regional meeting of WHO which was held at Paradise Island Resort was the best organized meeting of WHO so far. Qaisar said that officials from WHO praised the facilities and services provided by the resort.
In addition, Qaisar said that Paradise Island Resort has a large beach which is suitable for gala dinners which are often held during conferences. “Even now we host gala dinners for hundreds of people” said Qaisar.
Furthermore, he said that the resort has high end suits, suitable for heads of state and low-end rooms as well. He said that hence, this will be useful for people who hosts conferences.
“Even now heads of states visit the resort for vacations. They even use the resort on official visits” said Qaisar.
Qaisar said that it is also very important that the resort has a safe jetty. He said that the jetty of the resort is one of the safest and perfect jetty in the Maldives. “No matter how rough the sea is, with the will of Allah once the boat enters the harbor of this resort, it will be safe. Guests can get on and off the island at ease. Also, we have enough space in the inner harbour for large vessels” said Qaisar. He also said that these facilities are not available in any other resort of the Maldives.
According to Qaisar the newly developed conference facilities were developed based on a vision Qasim Ibrahim the chairman of the resort had even when they developed the resort 25 years ago. “Even then he knew that these facilities will be needed in Maldives and he developed it” said Qaisar.
Qaisar said that to modernize the facilities they upgraded the interior designs to contemporary standards. “We imported materials form Indonesia to upgrade the interior of the building” said Qaisar.
