Marine Expo 2017 organized by Liveaboard Association of Maldives has begun. The expo was officially inaugurated by Environment Minister Mohamed Thoriq.
Thoriq said that the expo was really productive due to the sessions organize to discuss things that can be done for sustainable development, rather than just displaying products. He said that displaying products is not enough and it is important to hold discussions and find solutions to the problems we face. He said that all industries can be developed by discussing on how to overcome the challenges.
Some topics for discussion during the expo includes renewable energy and aquaculture of corals. Thoriq assured that the government will give their full support during the discussions.
Important products for Maldives will be displayed during the expo. Products related to water sports, and boat building were displayed in the expo.
The main sponsor of the expo is MTCC. This is the 4th expo of this kind.
