Qasim Ibrahim’s family requests to extend his stay in Singapore up to three months !
JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim’s family has requested Maldives Correctional Service to extend his stay in Singapore for three months.

A letter sent to Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan by Qasim’s son Mohamed Yagsaan Qasim says that they are making the request because the doctors who checked Qasim from Singapore recommended him to undergo some procedures and that it will take three months. The letter says that Qasim will be admitted at Mount Elizabeth Hospital on Friday to undergo coronary angiogram and coronary angioplasty.

The doctors said that they will need to monitor Qasim Ibrahim until he is stable and that it will take three months.

Yagsaan Qasim requested Corrections to allow his father to stay in Singapore till December 2017 and to extend the validity of the travel documents to that date as well. He sent this letter to the Corrections on Saturday morning.

The procedures recommended by the doctors from Singapore are the same procedures requested by the doctors in Maldives as well. These procedures are not available in Maldives at the moment. Qasim was admitted at IGMH till he was given permission to leave the country for treatment. He was given permission on 6th September. He left the country for Singapore the same night.
