Economic Ministry has decided to conduct this year’s invest forum in United Arab Emirates. The purpose of the investment forum is to inform foreign investors about the investment opportunities in Maldives.
Previously it was to be held in Qatar. The first forum was held in Singapore while the second one was held in China. Meanwhile the third forum was held in India last year.
Mega investments have come to the Maldives through the Maldives Invest forum. Major companies of the Maldives take part in the forum and provide information about their business and future plans to foreign investors.
Economic Minister Mohammed Saeed said that many foreign companies are expressing interest to invest in Maldives as a result of these investment forums. Foreign investments have increased to a record level since the current government assumed office. Even now projects worth 4.5 billion dollars are being conducted in the Maldives.
