A new route was launched by the Maldives National Carrier Maldivian Airline from Hangzhou, Chinaon15th September 2017
The Maldivian flight was given the traditional water salute atVelana International Airport and was welcome by the Managing Director of Island Aviation Services (IAS) Mr. Abdul Harris along with seniorsofficials from IAS, Chinese Embassy, Maldives Civil Aviation Authority and Maldives Airports Company Ltd.
The weekly flight from Hangzhou, China landed today at 0615hrs local time with around 200 passengers. The Maldivian Airlines commenced its Chinese operations in July 2013 and since then they had been operating to Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi’an, Changsha, Nanjing and Wuhan.
