Culinary Challenge, a side event of the Hotel Asia Exhibition has been conducted today. The challenge started this morning and 602 chefs took part in the event.
This is the 13th year of the Culinary Challenge and it began with only 40 chefs 13 years ago. Chefs from Maldives are now taking part in international culinary challenges and winning medals from these challenges. They take part in culinary challenges held in countries like Singapore, Australia, and Thailand.
Culinary Challenges are becoming common in the Maldives now. It is included as an event in many fairs in the Maldives.
Even though there are many resorts in the Maldives people active in the culinary field is still very few. Chefs are highly paid in resorts. Often the executive chefs are highly paid than the general managers.
