AliTrip a company owned by AliBaba group the largest e-commerce company in China has signed agreements with 5 Maldivian companies.
In a ceremony held at Hotel Jen, AliTrip assigned Island Hideaway, Villa Travels, Adaran, Manafaru, Lilly Beach and Splendid as their Maldivian agents.
Speaking at the ceremony, the General Manager of Hotel Business of AliTrip, Frank Huang said that when Maldivian travel agencies partner with AliTrip the largest e-commerce company in China, it will be easy for more Chinese tourists to visit Maldives and it will benefit the Maldivian tourism industry.
Abdul-Haris the managing director of Island Aviation said that since AliTrip is a Chinese company this will increase the number of Chinese tourist arrivals to Maldives.
Records show that in July 2017, more than 175,000 tourists visited Maldives from China. China contributes to the largest share of tourist arrivals to the Maldives.
