A conference of Maldives Islamic Banking and Finance Industry (MIBFI) is to be held in Maldives.
Euro Edu Consultant and Woman on Board organizes this conference and this will be the 4th meeting of the series. The conference will be held at STELCO on 4th of October.
Experts from around the world, will take part in the conference and share their insights about the future of Islamic finance. This year’s theme of the conference is “ Strategizing Maldivian Islamic Banking and Finance Industry for a better tomorrow”. All financial institutions that provide Islamic financing in Maldives will take part in the conference and discuss about the challenges they face and how to tackle them.
At present, Islamic financing is provided by 13 institutions in the Maldives. MMA and CMDA regulates Islamic finance and the sector is broadening day by day. President Yameen formed Maldives Center for Islamic Finance with the purpose of making Maldives a hub of Islamic finance. In addition, the government plans to introduce halaal tourism and HDFC has issued a second sukook this month. This is the first time a sukook was issued for social housing in the whole world.
