High Court has halted Faris Maumoon’s appeal case until Supreme Court makes a decision.
The state accuses Faris Maumoon of offering bribes to parliament members. He was arrested under these charges and he appealed the case at the High Court. High Court has concluded the hearings but has delayed issuing a verdict until the Supreme Court makes a decision.
The High Court has changed the bench of judges presiding over Faris Maumoon’s case. Previously the bench was headed by Judge Ali Sameer. However, Judge Shujaau Usmaan heads the bench and his co judges are Chief Judge of the High Court Abdullah Didi and Judge Abdul Raoof Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, the state has charged Faris Maumoon of offering bribes and trial has begun at the Criminal Court.
