Hearings of the Civil case filed against by Correctional Service by Qashim Ibrahim is to begin soon. All attempted to find a solution in the dispute resolution stage failed because Correctional Service refused to reach a solution through dialogue.
Today, documents related to the case were exchanged at the Civil Court.
Qasim Ibrahim’s lawyers filed a case against the Correctional Service after they refused to extend the deadline given to Qasim Ibrahim to return to the Maldives. Qasim left for Singapore on 6th October for medial treatment.
The Criminal Court has sentenced Qasim Ibrahim to three years 2 months and 12 days. Qasim’s lawyers have appealed that case as well and say that they are confident that Qasim will win at the High Court.
