Vice President of the Maldives Abdullah Jihad have said that the president gives a lot of importance to ensure that senior citizens are well respected and loved.
Speaking a ceremony held to mark the International Day for Older Persons, the Vice President said that the government’s pledge to provide a happy life for elderly people is evidence for that.
“The policy we launched today is a policy to protect and promote the rights of elderly people. I note that various state institutions are working hard to implement this pledge of the government” said the Vice President.
The Vice President highlighted the work done by Gender Ministry and thanked President Yameen for his instructions and guidance in this regard.
