Correctional Service have states that there is chance to consider that Jumhooree Party (JP) Leader Qasim Ibrahim is a fugitive.
The media official of Corrections said that those who do not return after medical treatment, are considered as fugitives. He said that hence, there is room to consider Qasim Ibrahim a fugitive as well. He said that however, they have not informed the police yet.
Qasim Ibrahim tried to return to Maldives on 25th September and on 2nd October when he reached the deadline given by Corrections. However, Singapore Airlines refused to board Qasim Ibrahim because the doctors issued a statement saying that Qasim was unfit to travel.
