Qasim’s lawyer Hisaan Hussein have stated that the action taken against Qasim Ibrahim are well planned by the government and that they are acting in a way that might endanger Qasim Ibrahim’s life.
Hisaan said that, Qasim tried to return to Maldives without any regard to his own health, just to obey the order of the government. She said that Qasim could not return because Singapore Airlines refused to board Qasim and they have shared these details with Correctional Service.
Hisaan said that the government has no right to declare Qasim as a fugitive when they have shared all information about Qasim’s location and the details of his medical conditions and why he was not able to return to Maldives on the date given by the government.
A lot of people are expressing their anger towards the government because of the way Qasim’s trial was conducted and because how he is being treated afterwards.
