Dhiraagu has introduced a payment service called Dhiraagu Pay.
The service was launched by Finance Minister Ahmed Munawwar at a ceremony held at Hotel Jen.
The service is provided in association with Maldives Islamic Bank. A quick registration for the service can be made using the mobile phone number and ID card number. Those who opt for quick registration can deposit a maximum of RF 5000. If registered through a Dhiraagu outlet then RF 20,000 can be deposited.
Speaking at the ceremony Finance Minister Munawwar said that this is an important service considering the geography of Maldives. In addition he stressed on the importance of reducing charges on mobile money services.
Furthermore he said that mobile money services should be expanded.
Speaking about the service the CEO of Dhiraagu Ismail Rasheed said that this is the best mobile money application and those who do not use smartphones can also use the app. In addition he said that the app is compatible with NFC technology as well.
He said that even now there are more than 100 agents of Dhiraagu pay all over Maldives and that the number is increasing day by day.
