The government has started distributing Mushaf Maldeef to the people of Male’ today.
A special ceremony was held at Islamic Ministry this morning to inaugurate the distribution.
Happy done Ahmed Saeed was the first person to receive a Mushaf on behalf of Male’ citizens. The Mushaf was handed over by State Minister Ali Waheed.
Abdullah Rifaau the parliament member for Maafannu North constituency took part in this ceremony.
On September 2016, the first copy of Mushaf Maldeef was handed over to President Yameen. Under this project, the government aims to give a Mushaf to all Maldivians aged between 15 and 39 years old. All those who fall in this age category living in Male’ area are eligible to receive a Mushaf.
The government aims to distribute a Mushaf to all Maldivians by 2018.
