Three parties contracted with developing guest houses in Baresdhoo
Three plots have been given to those who got the highest points in their proposals to develop guest houses in Baresdhoo.

The plots were officially handed over in a ceremony held at Hotel Jen by Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation. Adnaan Jaleel and Mohammed Wafir won two plots of 5000 square feet while Jaufar Eesa Adam of Jausa Construction won a 10,000 square feet plot.

According to MITDC they gave marks to the proposals based on experiences and based on the rates they proposed to pay advance fees. MITDC said that interested parties can submit bids till 25th October and even now they are getting many proposals.

There will be 30 guest houses in Baresdhoo with water villas and there will be three hotels as well. Each hotel will have 100 beds. The guest houses will have 35 to 60 rooms and altogether the island will have 1500 rooms. That will accommodate around 3000 tourists.

MITDC says that the construction works will begin on November. The project was over seen by Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation previously and they sold land plots. MITDC says that they will make agreements with those who bought plots previously.
