Mayor of Addu City, Abdullah Sodiq have said that the water provision service to Addu City is going to be very expensive and that the water is unsafe to drink even.
Speaking at a rally held by the opposition last night, the Mayor asked the citizens of Addu City not to subscribe for the water service from Fenaka.
He said that Fenaka is going to bill Maldives at an expensive rate compared to other parts of the country. He said that the people of Addu have complained at the council saying that the government does not have the capacity to provide such a basic service.
Fenaka is planning to charge 65 Rufiyaa per ton of water for households and 100 Rufiyaa per ton for businesses.
