Maldivian, the national flag carrier has said that they plan on expanding their fleet.
The company is brining an Airbus A 330, a 50 seat Dash 8 and four seaplanes.
Managing Director of Island Aviation, Abdul Haris said that the they will bring the Dash 8 and a sea plane in the upcoming two months.
“We are trying to bring four new seaplanes by June 2018. They will be used to transport tourists to the new resorts that are going to be opened” said Haris.
In addition, Haris said that with the new plane, new jobs will be created and inflow of foreign currency will also increase. He said that hence the economy will also improve and that they are targeting to double the amount of tourists from China.
