MTCC gets a dredging contract from Malaysia!
MTCC have stated that they have got a dredging contract from Malaysia. Speaking to the press the CEO of MTCC Ibrahim Ziyath said that even before they could bring the hopper suction dredger to Maldives they got a contract from Malaysia. He said that now they are talking with them about the details of the project.

However he did not reveal anymore details of the contract. He said that he is really happy that they got this contract and was very surprised as well.

MTCC plans to reclaim land of Kulhudhuhfushi as the first project by the dredger. This is a 53.4 million Rufiyaa project. In addition they will conduct a project in Funadhoo as well.

8 hectors from the wetland area of Kulhudhuhfushi will be reclaimed and 6 hector from the sea will be reclaimed.

The dredger was built by IHC of Netherlands. It is 16.30 meters wide and 92.95 meters in length. According to MTCC, the dredger can dredge from a depth of 50 meters and has the capacity to hold 3700 cubic meters of sand. MTCC spent 555 million Rufiyaa to build the vessels. It will arrive in the Maldives on 25th of this month.
