Supplementary budget was passed without giving adequate time for opposition members to analyze it : Opposition
Opposition parties have said that the supplementary budget was passed without giving adequate time for opposition members to analyze it.

Speaking at a press conference held by the opposition today at Kunooz, MP for Makunudhoo Anaraa Naeem said that supplementary budget can be submitted only when there is an urgency to finance important matters.

She said that 300 million Rufiyaa was allocated for Aasandha in the supplementary budget, but noted that many members requested to increase the Aasandha budget during the analysis of 2017 budget. She said that however, budget was passed without taking any of these things into consideration and this shows how unorganized the government is.

She further said that the budget also has 26 million Rufiyaa allocated for the bi-election and that she does not believe that this election should be held. She said that the Supreme Court verdict does not indicate that the members lost their seats.
