Parliament passes the supplementary budget
Parliament has passed the supplementary budget submitted by the government without bringing any changes to it.

The budget was passed with 39 votes out of the 40 members who were present at the parliament today. Opposition parliament members boycotted voting for the supplementary budget.

In the parliament committee, the budget was passed with 13 votes and 2 opposition members voted for it. Finance Minister said that the supplementary budget was proposed because there is a chance that NSPA and Aasandha services might be stopped due to lack of funds. In addition he said that finance is also required to conduct bi-elections this year.

Most of the budget was allocated for Aasandha. The second highest figure was allocated for regional airports and a significant amount was allocated to digitalize schools as well.
