Press Release from Elections Commission
We, Elections Commission give our assurance to the fact that the Presidential Election 2018 in Maldives will be convened impartially and legitimately within the line of Constitution of Maldives; along with that of international standards, in a transparent manner.

However, during the European Union delegates visit to Maldives this week, we have perceived that different political leaders have made attempts to alter the facts of the works implemented by our respective Commission, and have also strived to corrupt the views of Maldivians as well as that of international personals regarding the upcoming Presidential Election 2018.

Moreover, as mentioned; we assure the citizens of Maldives that all the tasks of elections has been, and will be executedaccording to the Constitution of Maldives, with the international standards and in a transparent manner.

As such was the Local Council Elections 2017. This election was stated as one of the faire and independent electionsby political parties of Maldives, and acknowledged well from that of theinternational observers that took part in observing the election.

Similar to the preceding election, to ensure a free and fair election, local and international observers would be provided with the opportunity to observe the upcoming Presidential Election 2018.

Our respective Commission would be working, and would continue working to provide transparent fair elections as always. Therefore, we would like to advice people to stop falsifying the duties and responsibilities implemented by Elections Commission.
