After a long break Alitalia starts its operations from Rome, Italy to Velana International Airport, Maldives.
The flight landed at 1120hrs on 1st November 2017 and a water salute was given at Velana International Airport to welcome the Alitalia flight. All senior staff of Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) and Voyages Maldives along with ground staff of Alitatlia was there to receive the Italian Airline.
The first Alitalia flight came to the Maldives in 1985 as a charter flight but now Alitalia have started their operations as a full scheduled carrier.
The A330 aircraft which has a seat capacity of 250 pax will have 3 weekly flights on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Group pictures were taken and refreshments were held at Maamehi Lounge at Velana International Airport to celebrate the comeback of Alitalia.
