The Director of Dhaalu Airport Holdings Private Limited, Mohamed Khaleel have said that the increase of privately managed airports will increase competitive and it will benefit the aviation sector.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Dhaalu Airport, Khaleel talked about how people will benefit from the airport.
He said that 90 percent of the staffs of the airport are from Kudahuvadhoo. In addition, he said that the resort the company developed in the atoll also created 450 new jobs and 250 of the staffs are Maldivians.
Furthermore, he said that the people of the atoll make money by doing other economic activities such as selling fish and other products to resorts and that these options are available for everyone. Khaleel also talked about the priority given by President Yameen in developing new resorts and airports. “ The country needs a dynamic leadership like this” said Khaleel.
Khaleel also responded to those who say that buildings are not development. He said that development cannot be brought without buildings and buildings are necessary for development.
