Islamic University of Maldives and Maldivian National University has signed an agreement to cooperate on academic matters.
In a ceremony held at IUM today, Chancellor of IUM Dr.Shaheem Ali Saeed said that IUM is a young institution but if they were to include the years of Mauhadh then it is an old institution.
He said that this agreement between IUM and MNU is a huge achievement. Dr.Shaheem said that under the agreement many tasks will be accomplished together and some of them includes sharing of resources, training of staffs and usage of library.
“Even if IUM is young, there are areas where we can help MNU. There are Islamic professors in our university. We have connected with many foreign libraries. Students at MNU will find these things useful” said Dr.Shaheem.
Dr.Shaheem said that seniors should guide juniors and that MNU has the most number of Maldivian scholars. He said that the country will benefit when these two universities work together.
