Parliament has ratified the Kigali Agreement to the Montreal Protocol. This agreement was ratified with votes for 28 parliament members.
There were 45 members in the parliament chamber when the secretariat asked for the vote. However only 28 members voted while other members protested.
Meanwhile only MP Nihaan spoke about the agreement during the parliament debate session. He said that it is very important to ratify this agreement. Speaking about the opposition members who protested he said that it will be a dirty act that will be written in the history of Maldives.
In addition Nihan said that no matter how much the opposition intimidates the government members, the members will have the determination to work for things that are beneficial for the nation.
